How do I find a song from a Facebook video or a screen recording?
Facebook and Twitch links are not supported yet. Record your screen while the video plays, then upload the recording as an MP4. Keep at least 10 seconds of clear music in the recording.
Why can't it find the song in my video?
The song may be unreleased, independent, or a cover or live version that is not in the reference catalog; the music may be buried under speech or heavy effects; or the clip may be too short. Videos longer than 5 minutes are not accepted from links. Try a part of the video with at least 10 seconds of clear music, or upload just that part as a file.
How accurate is the identification?
ClipMusic is most accurate on mainstream commercial music with clear audio. It analyzes several parts of the video and merges the matches; when only one short part matches, treat the result as a likely match rather than a certainty.
Can I identify songs from live performances or covers?
Audio fingerprinting works best with original studio recordings. Live performances, acoustic covers, and remixes may not match because their fingerprint differs from the original. For a cover, try searching by lyrics or melody instead.
How does audio fingerprinting work?

Each fingerprint is matched against a reference catalog of millions of released songs. Matching tolerates background noise and light edits, which is why it works on short clips with sound effects.
What information do I get after identification?
You see the song title and artist, where in the video the song plays, and links to listen on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music. Popular songs also have a song page with more details.
Is my data safe?
We only use the audio. For a video link, we work with the extracted audio track, not the video. Files over 5 minutes are trimmed in your browser, so only a 30-second clip leaves your device. To match songs, we send an acoustic fingerprint, not the audio itself, to our music recognition service. We never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete an upload by contacting us.
