The short version: October ClipMusic data (Oct 1–25, 2026): "BAD TIMES" by Imael Angel tops the chart in two versions at once — the original turned up in 49 videos, and a Long Version we first logged on October 1 in 29 more. For the first time we can also show what each sound is used for: "I'm God" lives in movie clips, Aphex Twin's "QKThr" in top-5 rankings, Indila in anime motivation edits. And while slowed edits held near their previous high, their share of new tracks slipped to 7.6% as a much wider mix of music reached the chart.
This is the fourth edition of our chart built from the songs people couldn't identify on their own. Every entry started with someone pasting a short-video link into our video music finder because the sound had no usable label.
Between October 1 and October 25, 2026, that happened 38,341 times. Those attempts matched audio from 10,556 distinct videos and surfaced 6,761 tracks we had never logged before — more than twice the 3,296 newcomers we saw in all of September, which we didn't publish as a standalone edition and use below as a baseline instead.
Where This Data Comes From
Same rules as the August edition. A "recognition" is one successful match between a user-submitted video and a track; a "videos" count is the number of distinct videos a track was identified from. This is not a streaming chart — songs appear here because they were hard to find: unlabeled uploads, "original sound" posts, remixes, and tracks in languages viewers can't search by lyrics.

Three Things October's Data Says
1. One song, two versions, both on the chart
"BAD TIMES" first reached our logs in July. In October it took the top spot with 49 videos — and a Long Version of the same track, which we first logged on October 1, added 29 more and finished as the month's biggest breakout with 34 identifications. When a sound gets big enough, the extended cut starts circulating as its own upload, and people trying to name it end up identifying two different recordings of one song.
The hashtags on its clips say what it's for. Of its 81 matched clips, 29 carry hashtags. Dance is the leading use among them, #freestyle and #robot each appear four times, and #dad and #daughter turn up twice — some of it is family dance content, not only solo edits.
2. Hashtags show what each sound is for
This month we started grouping the hashtags on every clip we've matched to a track into a handful of uses — movie edits, gaming, sports, anime, and so on — ignoring generic tags like #fyp. Each song page now shows the result in a "How creators use it" section. The chart's top tracks turn out to do very different jobs:
| Track | Leading use (tagged clips) | Tags that keep coming up |
|---|---|---|
| I'm God | Movie & TV clips (29 of 46) | — |
| QKThr | Comedy & memes (8 of 26) | #ranking, #top5, #fail, #pov |
| Ainsi Bas La Vida | Edits (16 of 43), then anime (7) | #jjk, #gojo, #motivation, #discipline |
| Scooby Doo Pa Pa | Edits (6 of 20), then sports (4) | #fnaf, #horror, #pubgmobile |
| Ts Pmo | Gaming (5 of 16) | #roblox |
Two of these are worth a second look. Aphex Twin's "QKThr" — a fragile piano-and-static miniature — has become the bed for ranking and "top 5" videos, which may explain why it keeps charting without ever being the point of the clip. And Indila's "Ainsi Bas La Vida" now runs under anime motivation edits: Jujutsu Kaisen and Gojo tags sit next to #discipline. That use is already generating its own remixes — "AINSI BAS LA VIDA (Hardtekk - Slowed)" by ynzro appeared on October 22 and reached 12 identifications in four days.
One caveat: these counts come only from clips that carry hashtags, across everything we've matched for each track — not only October. Plenty of clips have none ("I'm God" has tags on 46 of its 74), so read the numbers as a profile, not a census.
3. Slowed edits held steady in number — their share fell
October brought 511 declared slowed edits among its new tracks — level with our previous high in June (509) and well above September's 305. Their share went the other way:
| New tracks first logged in… | Declared "slowed" | Of those, "Super"/"Ultra" |
|---|---|---|
| July 2026 (5,463 tracks) | 476 (8.7%) | 173 → 36.3% |
| September 2026 (3,296 tracks) | 305 (9.3%) | 117 → 38.4% |
| October 1–25 (6,761 tracks) | 511 (7.6%) | 160 → 31.3% |
As many slowed edits as ever, but a smaller slice of a much bigger and broader pool. October's newcomers include French variety pop (Patrick Sébastien's "Toc toc"), a Moroccan–Turkish club track ("Khalouni N3ich"), and Indian-language songs ("Tera Gungan Karu"). Brazilian edit culture held its footprint: 212 of October's newcomers carry "montagem" or "funk" in the title, 3.1% against 2.9% in July. We don't yet know whether the slowed share is falling or simply being diluted by a wider audience — November's numbers should tell. For why these versions break ordinary music search at all, see our remix-culture analysis.
A Note on Platform Numbers
October's matched videos split as TikTok 4,244 · YouTube 3,834 · Instagram 1,588 · X/Twitter 450 · Douyin 440. As in August, we're not presenting a month-over-month platform comparison: around October 18 we moved link extraction for several platforms onto a new pipeline, which changed how many YouTube and TikTok links we can resolve. Any shift in platform shares this month says more about our plumbing than about where people find music.

Try the Video Music FinderMethodology: figures from ClipMusic internal recognition logs, October 1–25, 2026: 38,341 recognition attempts, of which 25,334 completed and 15,586 returned at least one matching track; 10,556 distinct videos matched; 6,761 first-seen tracks. Counts reflect user-initiated identifications, not streams. Usage categories are derived from hashtags on every clip we've matched for a track (not only October), grouped by keyword, with generic tags such as #fyp ignored. Version-type analysis is title-based and therefore conservative. See our About page for how we handle this data.
