About ClipMusic
Learn how ClipMusic helps creators and music fans identify songs from short-video links.
Our Mission

We use advanced audio fingerprinting technology to analyze background music from video links. Simply paste a link, and our AI-powered system will identify the track, artist, and provide direct links to streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

Our Story
ClipMusic started in 2024 when we noticed a common frustration among content creators and music enthusiasts: finding the perfect song from a viral video was often tedious and time-consuming. Existing tools required downloading apps or recording audio manually.
We built ClipMusic to make that workflow simpler: paste a supported public video link, identify the track, and continue exploring the song through listening links or BPM analysis.
Where Our Data Comes From
Every song page on ClipMusic is built from first-party recognition data: real videos that real users asked us to identify. When we say a track was “matched in 4 videos with 1.4M combined plays,” that comes from our own recognition logs and the public video pages we matched — not from scraped charts or guesswork.
- Recognition counts reflect how many times our users identified a track from short-video links.
- Video appearances link back to the actual public TikTok, Reels, Shorts, or X posts where the song was heard.
- Audio DNA (BPM, key, genre, release year) is compiled from licensed metadata partners including Spotify and Apple Music APIs.
- Trend articles on our blog are written by our team and based on aggregated, anonymized recognition data from the platform.
Who We Are
ClipMusic is built by a small, independent team of engineers and music-data specialists working across the US and Asia. Between us we've shipped audio-processing pipelines, machine-learning fingerprinting models, and creator tools used by short-video communities daily. We run our own recognition infrastructure end to end — from audio extraction to fingerprint matching — rather than reselling a third-party API, which is why we can support platforms other tools miss (like Douyin and X/Twitter).
Articles published under “ClipMusic Team” are researched and written by our staff, reviewed for accuracy against our own recognition data before publishing, and updated when platform behavior changes.
Our Position on Copyright
ClipMusic identifies music — it never distributes it. We don't host, rip, or offer downloads of copyrighted recordings. When we identify a track, we link you to licensed streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music where you can listen legally and support the artist. Temporary audio snippets used for analysis are processed and discarded; see our Privacy Policy for details.
