Find the song from an Instagram Reel

Paste an Instagram Reel, video post, or Story link and ClipMusic identifies the background music: the song, the artist, and where to stream it. It works when the Reel only shows "Original audio" or the audio label is missing.

Common Instagram problems

The Reel says "Original audio"

That label means the creator uploaded their own audio instead of picking a song from Instagram's library, so Instagram cannot name the track. ClipMusic identifies the audio itself, so it can still find the song.

The account is private

Links from private accounts cannot be read from outside Instagram. Screen-record the Reel while the music plays (at least 10 seconds) and upload the recording here.

The Story is gone

Stories disappear after 24 hours, and the link stops working with them. If the creator saved it to a Highlight, open it there, then copy and paste that link.

Questions about the Instagram song finder

How do I find a song from an Instagram Reel?

Tap the paper-plane Share icon on the Reel, choose Copy link, paste the link into ClipMusic, and press Find Song. You get the song title, the artist, and streaming links. It is free and needs no app or account.

Can I find the song from an Instagram Story?

Yes, while the Story is still up and the account is public. Copy the Story link and paste it the same way.

Why doesn't Instagram show the song name?

Instagram only names tracks picked from its own music library. Reels with music added in an editing app, or shared from business accounts, often show "Original audio" instead.

Does it work with private accounts?

No. Screen-record the Reel and upload the recording as an MP4 instead.

Why can't it find the song in my Reel?

The track may be unreleased or not in the reference catalog, or the music may be buried under voiceover. Try a part of the Reel with at least 10 seconds of clear music, or another Reel that uses the same audio.
